Our Products

Our Bourbon Barrels, Wine Barrels, Wine and Barrel Sets and Alternative Wood Products begin with raw lumber from the Appalachian Mountains. We us white oak only from Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky. Stave workers de-bark and quarter-saw the raw logs, then cut them into staves where they are kiln-dried for approximately 34 days to get the moisture content right. From there they go to the barrel shop where they are planed, shaped and jointed and assembly begins. A 20-minute trip through the steam tunnel adds moisture to make the staves flexible, giving the container that distinctive barrel shape. After a 300-degree dry tunnel to take the moisture back out they are passed through a char, where fire burns the inside giving the whiskey its color and flavor.

In additional to our quality barrels we also make alternative wood products. Our toasted chips - pieces of charred white oak - are exported all over Kentucky as well as California, Canada, Thailand and China. The chips go into wine barrels to help flavor the wine. We also manufacture a few thousand wine barrels each year which go to California, Canada and China.
